Reversing the trend of mass consumption and far from social networks, the artist VERÔNICA ALKMIM FRANÇA questions the culture of excess and its changing aesthetics in today's world.

 

Her recent projects are a visual reflection on the body submitted to the consumer market, the limits of advertising in the world of liquid modernity (Bauman), photography in several approaches, among them projects including different kinds of disadvantaged people which creates opportunities for them to social actions, and pertinent issues connected with sustainability in many aspects.

 

Born in Diamantina, Minas Gerais, VERÔNICA has lived for many years in Stockholm and has visited Brazil frequently in recent years.  Her frequent travel between Brazil and Sweden has fostered in her a certain turning away from conventional artistic venues.
